It's A Good Fight

"A [Psychiatric] clinic was opened in NY City. In the first 31 months, 10,750 individual people came for free or cheap psychotherapy! Strain is the best thing we have. The breakdowns, strains, cracks are the ultimate answer to the big technological machine. The machine gets better and better and the people crack...either the machine will slow to a halt because the people can't manage it any longer, or the machine will win and the fittest people (i.e. most mechanized and oiled) will survive.
