Happiness Happens

"Robert Johnson wrote that the word happiness comes from to happen. Our happiness is what happens. That's different from the Declaration of Independence, which states that each person has the right to pursue happiness, meaning that if we don't have it we have a right to go after it. This isn't the first time I've come across this line of thinking. James Hillman has said the right to pursue happiness should be taken right out of the Declaration of Independence.
